The Lune Valley runs along the north western edge of the "Yorkshire" dales area, from near Sedbergh and the Howgill Fells to Kirkby Lonsdale and on along the north eastern edge of Bowland towards Lancaster and the Lune Estuary to the south of Morecambe Bay.
