Every Summer the market town of Leyburn and other towns and villages in Wensleydale host a very popular 1940s themed weekend.
Much of the event takes place around the Wensleydale Railway, with authentic steam trains travelling along the line.
Back in Leyburn there are gatherings of 1940s military and civilian vehicles (including tanks, artillery, trucks and vintage cars), as well as British soldiers, American G.I.s and a whole host of civilian characters - including the odd "spiv" (as pictured above) here and there..
