Royal patronage extended for Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is delighted to announce that His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has accepted their invitation to extend his patronage of the charity.
Sharing an active interest in environmental issues, His Royal Highness has chosen to extend his patronage of YDMT for a further five years until November 2017, at which point The Prince of Wales will have been patron of the charity for 20 years.
YDMT was set up as a registered charity in 1996, and since then has worked hard to support the environmental, social and economic well-being of the Yorkshire Dales region and its communities.
Key achievements include having helped to plant more than 1 million new native trees in and around the Yorkshire Dales, engaging over 12,000 people in fun and educational wildflower-themed events, improving almost 300 hectares of degraded wildflower hay meadows, and enabling more than 4,000 people from disadvantaged urban backgrounds to experience the health and well-being benefits of the Yorkshire Dales landscape.
Steve Macaré, YDMT Chair of Trustees, said: “The Patronage of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales means a great deal to the board of trustees and staff here at Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. We have been very fortunate to secure the support of many individuals and local businesses over the years who share our passion for the area, but knowing you have the royal ‘seal of approval’ is really rather special.”
A spokesperson from The Prince of Wales’s office said: “His Royal Highness is delighted to extend his Patronage to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.”
